About 'graphic design bachelor'|Midnight Firefly and Allison Biggs Graphic Design

Getting               your               college               degree               is               quite               the               achievement.

You               spent               at               least               4               years               of               hard               work,               sweat               and               tears               and               it               has               finally               paid               off.

Now,               you               get               to               proudly               display               your               hard               earned               diploma               on               your               wall.

So,               what's               the               next               step?

Well,               that               next               step               certainly               depends               on               your               circumstances.

Some               recent               graduates               are               lucky               enough               to               find               work               soon               out               of               college               and               are               easily               transitioned               into               the               work               force               where               they               will               be               earning               salaries               for               years               to               come.

The               problem               comes               with               those               who               are               not               quite               sure               what               to               do               with               their               degrees,               or               perhaps               have               difficulties               in               finding               degree-related               work.
I               guess               I               fall               somewhere               in               between               those               two               categories.

Having               received               my               Bachelor's               degree               in               Psychology               with               a               minor               in               Religion,               I               discovered               during               my               last               year               of               classes               that               the               best               way               to               attain               a               career               in               the               field               of               Psychology               is               by               getting               a               Master's               degree.

Well,               lucky               me.

I               toughed               it               out               anyway               and               got               the               diploma               I               deserved,               but               I               knew,               deep               down               inside,               that               I               wouldn't               be               starting               my               career               in               Psychology.

Getting               a               Master's               in               the               same               field               is               costly               and               I               already               have               an               abundance               of               student               loans               kicking               in.

Luckily,               my               dear               parents               are               helping               with               the               majority.

In               addition,               with               the               state               of               the               current               job               market,               I               know               people               who               in               fact               have               their               Master's               degree               and               have               yet               to               find               a               job.

So               frankly,               for               me               it's               not               just               worth               it.
I               do               have               other               interests               that               I               am               pursuing,               such               as               art               related               freelance               jobs               and               the               very               thing               that               I               am               doing               now:               writing               this               article.

I               plan               to               attend               a               community               college               within               the               next               year               or               so               to               advance               my               studies               in               graphic               design.

While               others               may               disagree,               I               kind               of               enjoy               not               having               that               9               to               5               job               commitment               and               take               pride               in               being               a               great,               supportive               wife               to               my               hard               working               husband.

But               since               I               do               like               having               things               to               do               and               take               care               of,               non-commitment               jobs,               like               projects               and               such,               are               best               for               me;               and               of               course,               the               extra               money               is               nice.
So,               what               did               I               do               with               my               college               degree?

Well,               I               gazed               proudly               at               my               achievement,               took               a               deep               breath               and               placed               it               in               a               wonderful               frame               that               now               hangs               on               my               wall               for               all               to               see.
